Brian R Neri, MD FAAOS

Dr. Neri is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who attended Boston College for his undergraduate education and received his medical education at Loyola University Chicago where he was honored with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases where he served as an administrative chief resident and was awarded the resident teaching award. He subsequently completed an extra year of fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. During his fellowship he served as team physician for Loyola Marymount University, and associate team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks and part of the medical staff for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Avengers and USC Football. He also received the Kerlan-Jobe Clinical Research Award for his research on superior labral tears in professional overhead throwers.

While he treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, his practice is focused on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the hip (labral tears, femoracetabular impingement, gluteus tears, snapping hip), shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff tears and shoulder labral tears and ACL tears. He has published, lectured and instructed on the management of femoroacetabular impingement, hip labral tears, massive rotator cuff tears and superior labral tears in elite overhead athletes.

He is the head team orthopedist for the New York Islanders Hockey Club and orthopedic consultant for the US Open Tennis.

Dr. Neri is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA), National Hockey League Team Physician Society (NHLTPS), American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
